Heel Pain

Heel pain is often the result of inflammation in the plantar fascia. Treatment of this generally involves prescribed stretches for tight calves and tightness in the plantar fascia. Supportive, cushioned shoe inserts (orthoses) as well as supportive footwear is recommended. Rocker soles may be of assistance by reducing flexion at the forefoot and hence reducing strain through the plantar fascia.

A stable supportive heel counter can also assist in controlling excessive pronation or supination which is helpful in treating heel pain and encouraging a healthy gait.
